Short Course on Research Methodology

Clinical Development Services Agency (CDSA), an extramural unit of Translational Health Sciences and Technology Institute (THSTI), Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India had organised a short course on research methodology was organized from March 25-28, 2019 at Board room, THSTI NCR Biotech science cluster. Prof J. P. Muliyil, Former Principal, CMC, Vellore was the esteemed faculty for the two days workshop. The workshop was attended by 14 Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance fellows from 10 different institutions.

The objective of the program was to train Wellcome Trust/ DBT India Alliance fellows on Research methodology covering various aspects that are as follows:

  • Casual association – Measures of association and Potential impact
  • Biological variability; Sample to sample variability 95% confidence Interval Sample size 1

  • Commonly used statistical methods
  • Test for agreement
  • Test for association
  • Stratifies analysis
  • Common multivariate analytical tests
  • Sample size for hypothesis testing
